All clear for take-off in Canada.
It’s been a busy couple of months for paper airplane enthusiasts across Canada! Over 650 students competed in 19 qualifliers on campuses from coast to coast, for a chance to head to Salzburg’s famous Hangar-7 in Austria at the Red Bull Paper Wings World Finals.
Student’s competed in three disciplines: Longest Airtime, Longest Distance and Aerobatics. Competition was high as each campus saw the best of the best battle it out, but there were only three spots up for grabs. Following intense hours of folding and flying; victory went to three lucky pilots: MRU’s Addison Asuchak for Longest Distance (57.7M), UBC’s Thomas Zuiderveen for Longest Airtime (10.35S) and U’Laval’s Vincent Jacob for Aerobatics.
The three winners from Canada will join competitors from over 60 other countries around the globe at the Red Bull Paper Wings World Finals on May 8-9. Please join us in wishing these students luck, and check back here for updates on their progress.
