What is Red Bull Paper Wings?
The world's largest paper plane championship, and a celebration for students across the globe, is back. The idea is simple and ingenious: participants must make a plain sheet of paper fly as far, as long or as artistically through the air as possible. All national winners of the three categories – Distance, Airtime and Aerobatics – will be invited to the Red Bull Paper Wings World Final in Austria at the iconic Hangar-7, where the champions will be crowned.
Who is eligible to participate?
If you are 18 years of age or older, you can participate.
Where and when will the World Final take place?
The Red Bull Paper Wings World Final will take place in Salzburg, Austria, in the iconic Hanger-7 on May 13 and 14, 2022.
What are the winning prizes?
National winners will advance to compete for top honours in the World Final at Salzburg's iconic Hangar-7. There, the champions crowned in each category will win a flight experience with the renowned Flying Bulls.
How are the winners of the Aerobatics category selected?
All Aerobatics submissions will be directly evaluated by judges based on three criteria: social engagement; creativity of the performance and the video (art, design); and flight performance.
How can I participate in the Aerobatics category?
You don't need to show up at an event to qualify for this one. Get creative with your paper planes at home and upload your mastery to TikTok. Don't forget to use the hashtag #redbullpaperwings and tag @redbull and your #country. Can I use any kind of paper?
Paper planes must be constructed out of one piece of paper only: standard A4 format, not more than 100 grams. The sheet must be modified by folding only! No ripping, gluing, cutting, stapling or ballasting is allowed.
Is there a Qualiflyer in my country?
The tournament is open only in certain countries and regions.
