DISTANCE

No fuel. No engines. Just a paper plane folded from a sheet of A4 paper and the skills to throw it farther than anyone else. You get two attempts at one of the Qualiflyers, and your best throw will count. Only the pilot with the overall longest distance at the National Final event will attend the World Final. Can you beat reigning champ Jake Hardy?

All contests need to be held indoors without any wind/air conditioning/ventilation.

Paper planes must only be constructed out of one piece of paper: standard A4 format, not more than 100 grams. The sheet must be modified by folding only! No ripping, gluing, cutting, stapling or ballasting is allowed!

Flight Control must ensure that the pilots are participating with a folded paper plane – no other shapes like thin paper sticks or paper balls allowed!

Paper planes must be built on site with the provided official paper.

The plane must be launched by one person throwing it unaided from behind a straight launch line marked on the floor. Passing over the launch line results in disqualification. Touching the launch line or any point beyond during the launch is considered an invalid attempt. After completion of the launch, the thrower may move beyond the launch line.

Two tries are allowed per participant. Different planes can be used, the better attempt counts.

The DISTANCE must be measured with a standardised tape measure or laser / video device. Decisive for measurement are the base point on the starting line and the first point where the paper plane hits the ground or any object. Results need to be counted in m/cm or inches.

The results of the DISTANCE Qualiflyer will be uploaded on the website (redbullpaperwings.com).

The national leader board on redbullpaperwings.com will define the DISTANCE winner, who will attend the WORLD FINAL.

In case of a NATIONAL FINAL, the country will invite the best two participants of every Qualiflyer to the NATIONAL FINAL. The NATIONAL FINAL will determine the DISTANCE winner, who will attend the WORLD FINAL.

AIRTIME

Fold it, calibrate it and check the aerodynamics before releasing your plane to achieve the longest flight time.
You get two attempts at one of the Qualiflyers, and your best throw will count. Only the pilot with the overall longest airtime at the National Final event will attend the World Final. In 2019, Cameron Clark snatched victory for the Airtime title with a 13.33-second flight. Can you dethrone him?

All contests need to be held indoors without any wind/air conditioning/ventilation.

Paper planes must only be constructed out of one piece of paper: standard A4 format, not more than 100 grams. The sheet must be modified by folding only! No ripping, gluing, cutting, stapling or ballasting is allowed!

Flight Control must ensure that the pilots are participating with a folded paper plane – no other shapes like thin paper sticks or paper balls allowed!

Paper planes must be built on site with the provided official paper.

The plane must be launched by one person throwing it unaided from a reasonably static position. The participant needs to have both feet firm on the ground during the attempt. A run-up or fast walk as part of the launch is not permitted, nor the use of ramps or similar devices.

Two tries are allowed per participant. Different planes can be used, the better
attempt counts.

Decisive for measurement are the moments when the paper plane leaves the
hand and the first time it hits the ground or any object. Results are counted in tenths of a
second.

The results of the AIRTIME Qualiflyer will be uploaded on the website (redbullpaperwings.com).

The national leader board on the website (redbullpaperwings.com) will define
the AIRTIME winner, who will attend the WORLD FINAL.

In case of a NATIONAL FINAL, the country will invite the best two participants of every Qualiflyer to the NATIONAL FINAL. The NATIONAL FINAL will determine the AIRTIME winner, who will attend the WORLD FINAL.

AEROBATICS

If you've got some sensational aerobatic tricks up your sleeve, we want to see them. You don't need to show up at an event to qualify for this one. Get creative with your paper planes at home and share your mastery on TikTok (or Instagram if TikTok is not available in your country). Don't forget to use the hashtag #redbullpaperwings and tag @redbull. The national pilots with the most votes from the judges will make it to the World Final. Can you out-fly the last winner, Kateryna Ahafonova?

The plane’s body needs to be made out of paper, but there are no restrictions with regards to paper quality, size and construction technique of the planes used.

Planes are not allowed to be remote controlled.

There are no limitations to the performance in terms of acrobatic body performance while throwing.

The one top-judged video will determine the national AEROBATICS winner, who will attend the WORLD FINAL.
